We believe in the power of personal passion, and we have a passion for self advocacy.

There's a lot of gray area in what artists and athletes do. Touch-centered disciplines (activities that require contact as a part of the process) aren't always clear about when touch is required, necessary, or imperative to what they're doing. And self-advocacy can be tricky when standing up for yourself can mean standing alone.
As arts educators, many in our organization are keenly aware of the pressures on performers and performance athletes to say "yes". It's built into the foundations of the art; the yes and in improv, the yes to impossible movement, the yes to pushing past injury. And when many of us saw our own children enter athletics, dance, and theatre we knew the culture of consent within these worlds needed to change.
We know that greatness isn't easy. But we believe that quality, beauty and strength can exist without breaking the child first. Kids want and NEED to feel safe without fearing they will lose status or opportunities. Consent Center Stage was created to fill a need that has been warranted for so long; to give our kids the right and strength to be safe while pusuing their passions. So, who are we?
We are educators. We are artists. We are parents. We are advocates.
